Background
This Dazor fixture served the
federal government for some years as a desk lamp, carryings
its GSA identification, the basic design of this product,
with its original 2-tube fluorescent lamp, was highlighted
at the 1938 Worlds Fair, displayed by GE lighting. The arm
assembly remains in the Dazor line today with a linear LED
array.
For this specific project, we were commissioned through
TASCA to modify the table lamp with a vertical stem
extension to create a floor lamp. While the finish on the
original was still in good condition, there were scratches
on the base, and fading present. With the need to match the
new components to the old, the entire fixture was cleaned
and refinished to match as closely as possible the original
bronze color.
Officially, this is a custom TASCA Renovar product,
utilizing a customer supplied core purchased at a used
lighting store. |
Specifications
44"H x 24"Reach. Utilizes
Bridgelux ES LED (4100k) in TASCA lighting head with
integral constant current driver and custom TASCA diffuse
optic, 620lm. The power supply is a 24VDC high efficiency plug in
unit, providing easy replacement should it ever need fail.
As it is with all TASCA products, this light can be rebuilt
when the LED begins to fade at the end of its usable life
(more than 36,000 in the future to 70% full light output).
The lighting head is detachable, while the stem extension is
modular for removal at a later date if it is desired to
return this product to its original desk mount
configuration, or to change the height of the vertical
extension to suit a new use.. |
